I don’t know much about womenswear but I definitely can see how good this new women’s line by Engineered Garment. The FWK collection took the same inspiration from its menswear, which is mostly stirred by vintage American workwear. I see the same pattern and fabric are used in this collection, such as the ever popular chambray shirt, Madras plaid and organic cotton. I shouldn’t be too excited seeing women’s clothes, but I have to say this is probably the only womenswear I can relate to. It doesn’t mean I would wear one!. I can imagine how great the Button down shirtdress, the Shawl Collar Cinch Vest and the Bedford jacket will fit on a lady.

Here’s a look at the Visvim F/W 09 footwear and outerwear collection. I have nothing much to say on their outerwear collection, overall is looking amazing as usual. The leather jacket and the bomber jacket are exquisite, also spotted a couple of interesting camouflage blazer.  As for the footwear collection, I must say I’m not their biggest fan for FW09 season. I do like the old range such as the Serra Boot and Foley, but some of the newer styles are not just my liking. I would definitely prefer the previous version of Virgil than this latest one. Laetitia Negre is famously known as the ‘fashion photographer renowned for her skill at ‘inserting’ fashion shoots into extreme settings and events, in increasingly far-flung locations.’ I recently bumped into her work of photography’s for I-D mag, a spread feature of the Royal Enfield series. On this particular spread, Laetitia Negre embarks on an epic journey across India for the annual Royal Enfield Mania (REM).

An invitation maybe is considered as one of the smallest promotion tools, yet I believe it is one of the most important elements in one brand’s identity. Often the first elements that people see (if you’re invited) from a brand’s campaign is an invitation, so it should be designed as carefully and in the same tone as the collections themselves. Wallpaper* has given us a look at some of the nicest invitations of Paris Fashion Week, from the likes of Margiela, Dunhill, COMME des GARCONS, Lanvin, Junya Watanabe, and etc. My personal choice would be the invitation from Dunhill. It is exciting to see a brand or a person so dedicated to its goal. From that, people would give more respect towards it. This is why I think Visvim could gain such popularity without putting much effort and capital into their promotions. The media and consumer are aware of Visvim’s philosophies and how they dedicate their self into its product. Hence, any hints regarding Visvim products are newsworthy to numerous media out there, so you can imagine how big the exposure they get. Now Mr. Nakamura is opening a new door into his brand by finally launching their official website, visvim.tv.
